Who We Are

Since starting as a one-therapist clinic in 2012, TheraPlay Spot has grown to be the largest pediatric outpatient clinic in Wichita. We offer a range of pediatric services, including occupational, physical, speech-language, and feeding therapy. All of our therapists have a degree in their discipline, are Kansas-licensed, and are passionate about helping children and their families. We have a supportive management team and helpful admin to make sure things run smoothly.

Our whimsical forest theme in our waiting room welcomes our staff, families and guests. Our therapists work in individidual treatment rooms and in two sensory gyms filled with therapeutic equipment. Home and community visits are also an option for a more holistic approach. We are currently expanding and remodeling our property. We are home to other family-friendly services who also contribute to the Wichita community.

What We Do

We help children and their families succeed where they would otherwise struggle! We also empower their families by providing strategies and resources to help their children reach their maximum potential.

We invest in our team members and strive to be the #1 preferred employer for the most talented pediatric therapists within 100 miles of Wichita.

Our Team Core Values

Kris Dickinson, M.S., OTR/L

About the Owner

Originally from Wichita, Kris got her bachelor's from the University of Kansas and her master's in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University (WMU) in 1993. After many years of being away from Kansas, she returned to Wichita in 2010 and opened TheraPlay Spot in June 2012. She started TheraPlay Spot in a charming little house with 10 children, moved to the current location 3 years later with several therapists, where it continues to grow. TheraPlay Spot therapists have now helped over 2500 children in 11 years! Kris enjoys mentoring new therapists, and even subbing for other OTs on occasion. Her evolving leadership role keeps her humble.

Her ongoing goal is to create a work culture where therapists and staff enjoy coming to work, so that each member of the team can be at their best to serve our children and their families.
