The Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician with an emphasis on electrical knowledge and skills. This position will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure as well as general maintenance at the property.  For this position, you should be able to diagnose electrical failures quickly and provide clear communication to the Chief Engineer. Willing to work within a Maintenance Team, perform general maintenance work as needed on a daily basis and perform diagnosis and fixes pertaining to a variety of electrical issues. 

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Attending to daily maintenance calls throughout the shift
• Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment (AC wiring, room wiring & fixtures, electrical panels, etc) as needed
• Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor, especially in guest areas/guest rooms. 
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units
• Choosing, installing, and securing the performance of wires, plugs, panel boards, switchgear, switchboards, and similar.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all company rules and OSHA safety standards
• Maintain professional, respectful, and timely service

 Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
• Completion of a relevant apprenticeship / Proven experience performing electrical work
• General knowledge of Maintenance 
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice
