The Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront is seeking a full-time capable, experienced, tech-savvy maintenance technician to help manage our hotel facilities. You will be responsible for overall maintenance and repairs to the building and its utilities and amenities. As the maintenance technician in charge of the building, you will carry out routine and regular inspections to identify possible failures, carry out preventive maintenance, carry out quality checks, schedule repairs, maintain an inventory of parts and provide guidance in case new equipment needs to be purchased or repairs to be carried out.
We expect maintenance technicians to be versatile and well-versed with mechanical stuff, electricals, HVAC, and general carpentry. You should also have problem-solving and organizational skills and negotiate and interface with various service providers and guests when required.
Maintenance Technician Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out a routine inspection of buildings and equipment to identify any developing issues and notify building management/owners
- Repair structures and equipment types and engage specialists as and when necessary, and contract labor for that purpose
- Develop maintenance schedule and procedures
- Ensure lifts, air conditioners, heating equipment, electrical equipment, and mechanical equipment remain in perfect working condition
- Suggest backup facilities in case of breakdown to ensure uninterrupted services
- Plan and maintain inventory of parts for fast repairs
- Suggest ways and means to improve efficiency, performance, and energy consumption
- Inspect for end-of-life equipment condition and plan for new purchases
- Be aware of rules and regulations governing building maintenance, fire, and utilities and ensure safety
- Perform general maintenance
- Delivers the brand standard and provides exceptional guest service at all times
- Respond to work orders of non-functioning equipment immediately
- Provides excellent service
- Conduct site inspections
- Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets, in a safe and acceptable state of repair
- Repair and program hotel electronic lock system
- Assist in preventive maintenance tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma and/or technical/vocational school preferred but not required
- Hotel experience is preferred, but not required
- Requires excellent communication skills, a professional presentation, an ability to work in a team atmosphere, and to make independent decisions
- General knowledge of some technical fields such as carpentry, painting, electrical, etc
- Flexible hours are required
- Medium work - Exerting in excess of 50 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
