Job Description

4 Pets Enterprises LLC is excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Full-Time Store Team Leader at our local Pet Supplies Plus store. This position is perfect for a passionate, proactive, and pet-loving individual ready to lead and enhance the shopping experience for our valued customers. As the Store Team Leader, you will not only make a direct impact on the lives of pets and their families but also serve as a guiding light for your team. Please note, this is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote working.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of our store, ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our company's pet-focused values. You will play a crucial role in fostering a friendly and welcoming environment, motivating your team, and driving our store to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead your team by example: be the first one on the floor to engage with customers and their pets, creating a welcoming and friendly store environment.
  • Recognize important guests, like local shelter directors, and proactively offer support for community events, such as pet adoptions.
  • Analyze sales results, develop strategies to maximize sales, engagement, and productivity, and set precise goals for your team.
  • Create a positive, fun environment for both your team and customers, and establish a reputation for knowledgeable, trustworthy, and neighborly service.
  • Ensure operational policies and procedures (including animal care, safety, cleanliness, and security) are adhered to, ensuring exceptional service.
  • Maintain strong store audit and customer engagement scores which in turn support the brand’s reputation.
  • Leverage broad business knowledge to impact store results across various areas, including sales, loyalty programs, and customer engagement, while managing budget constraints.
  • Promote team member engagement and morale by understanding individual motivations, rewarding performance, and assisting in career development.
  • Oversee hiring, leading recruiting processes, and onboarding of staff at all levels in the store.
  • Foster a learning culture by offering outstanding training and development opportunities, providing coaching, and delivering constructive feedback.
  • Build connections with local community organizations to enhance marketing opportunities and participate in event partnerships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years experience in leading retail teams, preferably in a pet-related environment.
  • A 4-year college degree or an equivalent combination of education and retail management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to operate all equipment necessary to run the store, including a forklift, and the ability to handle physical activities such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to pass both a drug screening and a background check are mandatory.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a passion for animals and community service.
