Bennett A. Thomas DDS PC is delighted to announce an exciting job opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist. We are a family-owned dental practice committed to providing exceptional dental care to our patients. This position is ideal for someone seeking a part-time role, as you will be required to work 1 - 2 days per week initially, with the potential for additional hours and growth within the practice.
Located in the heart of our community, this role necessitates on-site presence as it is not a remote position. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team, embracing our dedication to excellent patient care and lifelong oral health education.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial dental assessments and consult with dentists on patient care.
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing.
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) in accordance with practice policies.
- Assess patients’ oral health and report findings to the dentist.
- Provide oral hygiene and prevention education to patients, tailoring advice and instructional techniques to each patient’s needs and conditions.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient care records in compliance with practice protocols.
- Ensure strict compliance with infection control, sanitization, and safety regulations in the dental office.
- Assist dentists in management of medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
- Participate in regular training and continuing education to stay current with industry trends and innovations.
Requirements
- Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Current dental hygienist licensure in the state of practice.
- Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on patient education and interpersonal communication.
- Proficient in the use of digital dental records and radiography equipment.
- Commitment to high ethical standards and professionalism.
- Experience with dental management software preferred: Open Dental.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Availability to work the designated part-time schedule, with flexibility for potential expansion of hours.
- A passion for promoting oral health and patient care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
