K&B Lawn and Landscaping, a leading company in the gardening and landscaping industry, is excited to announce an opening for a Landscape Foreman. This is a full-time, in-field role requiring a driven individual capable of managing various landscaping projects to successful completion.
The role of Landscape Foreman is pivotal within our company, providing both leadership and technical expertise on site. The successful candidate will not only oversee the execution of landscape projects from conception through completion but will also be responsible for guiding a team of workers. This job is not remote and demands a high level of commitment and presence on-site to effectively coordinate and troubleshoot project tasks as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of landscaping projects from start to finish.
- Provide leadership and direction to landscaping crews; ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective execution of projects.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget the time required to meet deadlines.
- Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with safety codes and other regulations.
- Prepare and submit progress and cost tracking reports.
- Develop and maintain a landscape design plan including the selection of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Identify plant diseases and pests and ensure effective solutions are implemented.
- Operate and train others to safely use various tools and machinery required for landscape construction and maintenance.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and stored.
- Adjust work schedules as needed to meet weather-related and emergency requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Landscape Foreman or similar leadership role in landscaping or construction.
- Significant knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and other plants ideal for landscaping.
- Ability to read blueprints and an excellent understanding of landscape design principles.
- Strong leadership skills, with an ability to motivate and lead a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in horticulture, landscape architecture or a related field is preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Competency in using landscaping tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to clearly and effectively communicate with staff and clients.
- Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for the work; ability to engage in heavy physical labor at all times of the day.
- A problem-solving mindset, capable of diagnosing and resolving issues swiftly to avoid delays.
- Availability to work additional hours as necessary to meet business needs, including weekends and evenings.
