Senior Staff Accountant

Salary Range:  $60000 - $70000 year

The Senior Staff Accountant position supports the Director of Finance in all aspects of corporate finance and accounting principles.  This position is also responsible for basic Human Resource operations.   

Senior Staff Accountant Functions

  • Experience with accounting reconciliation and month-end close responsibilities.
  • Prepare, record, and analyze accounting transactions and reports.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
  • Prepare and review monthly P&L statements for executive team meetings.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Enforce current policies while looking to improve outdated/inefficient processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of accounting records.
  • Maintain company accounting systems, records, and functions including accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
  • Maintain current aging through consistent and firm collection efforts.
  • Process invoices for vendors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a culture of teamwork and support in the department.
  • Build and manage working relationships with both internal and external customer bases to provide the highest quality of service.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation for key Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Work with internal hiring managers to fill open positions.
  • Enter new hires into the HR system.
  • Review and negotiate insurance rates on current and future policies.
  • Answer HR-related questions.

Senior Staff Accountant Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years experience in a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
