JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant position is a full-time position that is responsible for all finance and accounting as well as HR operations working directly with the Director of Finance.

Senior Accountant Functions

The following are essential functions of the job, but are not all-inclusive:

  • Execute month-end close process.
  • Prepare and review monthly P&L statements for an executive team meeting.
  • Enforce current policies while looking to improve outdated/inefficient processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of accounting records.
  • Maintain company accounting systems, records, and functions including accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
  • Review work done by the accounting coordinator for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports, statements, and documentation.
  • Maintain current aging through consistent and firm collection efforts.
  • Provide accurate and timely invoices to customers based on contract entry.
  • Process invoices for vendors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a culture of teamwork and support among the department.
  • Build and manage working relationships with both internal and external customer bases to provide the highest quality of service.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation for key Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Work with internal hiring managers to fill open positions.
  • Manage online job listings monitoring activity to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Screen and interview potential new hires.
  • Entering new hires into the HR system.
  • Reviewing and negotiating insurance rates on current and future policies.
  • Answering HR-related questions.

Senior Accountant Requirements

  • B.S. Degree and 2+ years experience in a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
