Dental Laboratory Support Technician

150 Bemis St Canandaigua, NY 14424 • Design • Full-Time

Salary Range:  $17.00 - $21.00 hour

We are looking for a full-time Lab Support Technician to join our team in our growing Dental Laboratory.  

The lab support technician performs various technical and administrative tasks at the dental laboratory.  As a lab support technician, your duties involve:

  • Equipment cleaning/maintenance.

  • Inspecting incoming cases for accuracy or quality.

  • Tracking the lab cases throughout the digital workflow.

You may also maintain computer system records, manage the hardware and software used in the dental laboratory, and handle technical support and maintenance issues.  Fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of a digital lab support technician requires physical stamina, computer skills, manual dexterity, interpersonal skills, and the ability to lift thirty pounds.

Additional qualifications include technical, analytical, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Excited to learn and interested in training to become a quality lab technician focusing on all aspects of removable fabrication.

  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer software.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to multi-task and follow detailed directions without difficulty.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Dental experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and invoice completed cases.

  • Craft high-quality restorations according to design files, ensuring precision and attention to detail; Fabricate dental prosthetics, including crowns, bridges, and dentures.

  • Conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure the final product meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide exceptional service.

  • Check restorations and digital scans for defects that need correcting before fabrication begins.

  • Utilize TeamViewer, Exocad, and other software to design dental restorations as needed.

  • Operate and maintain CAD/CAM equipment to fabricate high-quality dental restorations.

  • Follow quality standards to reduce remakes and patient satisfaction issues.

  • Partners with the treating Doctors to ensure appliances exceed patient expectations.

  • Completes required digital case sharing and outsourcing.

  • Follow predetermined budgetary guidelines to stock and maintain supply inventories and prepare Laboratory supply orders.

  • Perform general lab equipment maintenance and report and follow up on lab equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs with the Lab Lead.

  • Follow housekeeping guidelines to maintain a neat and orderly Laboratory.

  • Comply with established health and safety regulations, including the use of required personal protective equipment and infection controls.

  • Provide regular feedback to the Lab Lead and Clinical Director to help improve digital and lab performances and patient care.

  • Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

  • Utilize nesting software to prepare quality restorations.

  • Perform model work, including pouring up impressions, case articulation, and flasking.

  • Assemble and post-print finish quality printed prosthetic appliances such as flippers, dentures, temporary partials and implant surgical guides.

  • Fabricate clear suck-down appliances such as retainers, essix, and temporary stents.

Tuesday:  7:00am - 4:00pm
Wednesday:  7:00am - 4:00pm
Thursday:  7:00am - 4:00pm
Friday:  7:00am - 2:00pm

Hourly Rate

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience.
