We are excited to announce a career opportunity as a Surgical Dental Assistant at North Creek Dental Care. This pivotal role offers a chance to join our dedicated team in delivering high-quality dental care and services to our community. The position is part-time and necessitates the candidate's physical presence at our facility, as it is not eligible for remote work. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about dental health and thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Prosthodontist and Periodontist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Set up and break down operatory post-treatment.
  • Take, develop, and mount dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as placing a restoration (filling).
  • Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
  • Take impressions of the patient's teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
  • Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., schedule appointments, answer the telephone, bill, and order supplies).
  • Help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and surgery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures.
  • Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques.
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Skilled in handling dental instruments and operating dental machinery.
  • Strong communication and patient management skills.
  • High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred.
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g., EFDA).
  • Skilled Surgical Dental Assistant needed to assist our Prosthodontist and Periodontist.
