Patient Coordinator Job Description
We’re searching for a friendly Patient Coordinator to ensure our patients’ appointments are properly booked, rescheduled, or canceled based on their needs. The Patient Coordinator's duties include answering phones, responding to voicemails, inputting patient information into our computer system, including insurance benefits, answering patients’ inquiries, and coordinating referrals to other dental professionals. You should be able to generate billing statements as well. You must be able to manage and maintain patient waiting spaces as well as front-desk areas.
Patient Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welcoming and greeting patients in the office
- Answering phones to schedule/cancel appointments
- Assist patients with filling out paperwork
- Getting the dental team's Patient Visit Forms and daily routines ready
- Confirming appointments and sending out phone reminders
- Getting in touch with dental insurance companies to confirm/verify benefits
- Verifying payment methods and collecting money as necessary
Patient Coordinator Requirements:
- GED or high school diploma
- Previous work experience in a dental office is required (2 years is preferred)
- Dental terminology is well-versed
- Dentrix experience a must
- Working understanding of administrative procedures in general
- Excellent tone and telephone etiquette
- Outstanding organizational abilities
- Outstanding customer service abilities
