Salary Range:  $18 - $20 hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for registering new patients through various communication channels, verifying their insurance benefits and eligibility, and assisting with other administrative tasks as needed. The medical assistant may also be involved in clinical duties as well in the office on certain days. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth patient experience from the very first interaction with our team members.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient registrations via phone, text/messaging, email, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate and thorough data entry.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility, communicating findings effectively to patients and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain and update patient records in the EHR system, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Assist patients with scheduling appointments and provide necessary information about their visits.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
  • Administrative tasks as assigned by clinical directors.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and procedures to provide accurate information to patients.
  • Clinical duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification required.
  • HIPAA training and understanding is required. 
  • Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant certification preferred. 
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems and basic office software (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is desirable.
