Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ oral health conditions, review medical histories, and plan appropriate treatments.
- Perform oral health assessments including dental charting, oral cancer screening, and taking and developing dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Remove plaque and calculus (tartar) from all surfaces of the teeth.
- Apply preventive materials to teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides).
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene strategies to maintain healthy teeth and gums; recommend specific dental products as necessary.
- Assist the dentist in managing medical and dental emergencies if necessary.
- Maintain patient treatment records and document treatments and test results according to Kellerman Dental’s and legal standards.
- Follow strict procedures regarding sterilization and infection control to protect patients and themselves.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in the dental field and continually upgrade skills in dental health care techniques through continuing education courses.
- Make impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs).
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene required
- Valid Dental Hygienist state license.
- Exceptional working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening, and medical history documentation.
- Experience with digital radiography and proficiency with dental management software are strongly preferred.

- Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and a strong ability to work well under pressure.
- Skilled in providing oral health education and counseling to patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
