Red Oak Family Dental, a vibrant single doctor private practice located in Lake Elmo, MN, is excited to announce a new job opening for a Front Desk Assistant/Scheduler. This position is designed for individuals looking for part-time employment. The available role involves supporting our clinic for 1-2 days per week to assist our current Front Desk Administrator.

This is not a remote job and requires the candidate to be physically present at the clinic. The role of a Front Desk Assistant/Scheduler is pivotal in establishing and maintaining the practice’s reputation by offering a warm, friendly, and efficient service to our patients and staff. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of daily patient schedules to ensure smooth operation of the practice.
  • Answering phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, and scheduling appointments efficiently.
  • Making proactive communication efforts, such as calls, to help fill the schedules in advance, ensuring optimal clinic operations.
  • Greeting, welcoming, and checking in patients as they arrive, creating an inviting atmosphere.
  • Facilitating the check-out process for patients after their appointments.
  • Providing a quick overview and explanation of insurance benefits and estimates to patients, enhancing their understanding of dental care finance.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and protecting patient information per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Collaborating closely with other clinic staff to improve patient satisfaction and streamline front desk operations.
  • Handling administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing.
  • Updating patient records and documentation with high accuracy in the practice management software.

Requirements

  • Proven dental office experience as a Front Desk Assistant or similar role.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and diagnosis.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with patient management software; Open Dental preferred, but training is offered.
  • Excellent computer skills to manage records and necessary office software.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact competently with patients, families, and other team members.
  • Friendly personality and a positive attitude that contributes to a conducive work environment.
  • Ability to handle office equipment adequately.
  • Patience and excellent listening skills to effectively deal with patients from various backgrounds.
  • High school diploma; further certification in Office Management is a plus.
