We are looking for an energetic, competent registered dental assistant who loves to work with children to join our exceptional dental team.
First Smiles Children's Dentistry is a growing private children's dental practice that loves making our kids smile! You will become an integral part of delivering top notch dental care to our little patients and adding your fun-loving personality to our team. Our dental assistants need to be well-organized with great attention to detail. They must be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations, helping our office to run smooth. We want you to be capable of delivering direct and indirect patient care. You’ll assist with patient preparation, chairside assisting, dental hygiene activities, sterilization, room turn over, and other office duties. You must have a dental x-ray certification, a dental sealant certification and provide excellent patient care to succeed in this position.
Position available is Part-Time: 3-days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
7:30-5:00pm
Salary range $22-$24
Welcome children and parents to our dental office
Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Sterilize and turn over operatories
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Perform hygiene duties
Take dental digital x-rays as prescribed by the dentist
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records
When necessary, assist dentist in the management of medical and dental emergencies
Properly care and maintain dental equipment
Crosstrain in Front Office duties
Proven experience as a dental assistant
Pediatric dental assistant experience is a plus
Knowledge of dental terminology
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Strong attention to detail
Must be well-organized and reliable
High school diploma
Graduate of a dental assistant school
Additional certification or training: X-ray, Sealants, BLS/CPR
