Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician

Position Overview

Downey Park Family Dentistry has an immediate job opening for a Full-Time Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician. We are a General family practice serving our community for over 20 years. We have a fun and committed dental team who look forward to meeting their new teammate! Could it be YOU?

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team who will contribute daily to our goal of delivering the highest quality patient care.  As a Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician, you will play a vital and important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. The primary purpose of our Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician is to support our clinical dental team by performing all duties surrounding dental sterilization, including by not limited to, collecting and sterilizing dental instruments, operatory set up and tear down, and maintaining our in-house water filtration system.  Our Sterilization Processing Technician will understand and follow all OSHA infection control standards and Standard Precautions. If our Sterilization Processing Technician possesses a current RDA license, you may be called upon to perform RDA duties when needed.  A full description of this position is sent to you after you apply.  

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic life support certificate approved by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
• Completion of a recognized dental assisting program  
• X-ray certification 
• Prior experience in a dental setting  
• Familiarity with dental sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment
• Basic computer skills

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday  8am-5pm   *Hours may vary
