Field Manager - Commercial Operations

Position Overview:  We are looking for a Field Manager for our Commercial Operations Department to manage all aspects of the division’s day to day field operations activity.  

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Field Supervisor and Field Technicians as well as work closely with the Commercial Call Center Manager, Project Coordinator and Accounting staff
  • Participate in hiring, disciplining, and terminating direct reports
  • Work with management to establish, implement, and maintain annual training curriculum
  • Provide direct management, training, and support for the Field Supervisor, Field Technicians, and Apprentices to ensure that they are successful in accomplishing their job.
  • Monitor material costs, job hours and efficiency, and productivity of field staff
  • Ensure the attainment of all job site goals including safety and productivity
  • Reinforce Safety Director’s agenda to ensure that the workplace is accident free and that all
  • safety protocols are followed
  • Assist Safety Director in claim investigations
  • Perform site visits to meet with customers to resolve complaints, ensure quality workmanship, evaluate productivity, and monitor efficiency
  • Participate in the After-Hours Emergency Call Process
  • Assist coordination team to ensure proper allocation of workload and proper technician selection for type of service
  • Review dispatch board for scheduling efficiencies
  • Provide estimate pricing on small projects that require quick turn-around
  • Resolve all invoice disputes and other job-related issues
  • Ensure that all division key performance indicators (KPI’s) goals including but not limited to safety measurables, attrition rates, labor costs, gross profit, controllable overhead costs and growth are met and/or exceeded

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School diploma required; B.S in Business preferred 
  • Required: 5 years’ related field experience, 2 years’ management/supervisory experience
  • Preferred: 10 years’ related field experience, 5 years’ management/supervisory experience
  • Required: The use of conversational, analytical and observational skills which demonstrate an ability to organize, direct, control and manage all areas of supervision in the field.
  • Preferred: Advanced level administrative skills and leadership ability
  • Required: Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record, background check and drug test
  • Clear written and verbal communication (fluent in English), knowledge of general business mathematics
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licenses/Certifications – Scavenger Division
  • Master Alternative Onsite Sewage System Operator License, WSSC Drain Cleaner’s License, Medical D.O.T. Card, CDL Class “B” License with tanker’s endorsement, Confined Space Certification, OSHA 30-Hour safety certification
  • Class “A” CDL License with tanker’s endorsement
  • Licenses/Certifications – Drain Division
  • Journeyman Plumber License, Medical D.O.T. Card, Confined Space Certification, OSHA 30-Hour safety certification
  • Masters Plumber License, CDL Class “A” or “B” License with tanker’s endorsement
  • Licenses/Certifications – Ejector Pump Division
  • Journeyman Plumber License or Journeyman Electrician License, Medical D.O.T. Card, Confined Space Certification, OSHA 30-Hour safety certification
  • Master Plumber License or Master Electrician License
  • Licenses/Certifications – Plumbing Division
  • Journeyman Plumber and Gasfitter License, Confined Space Certification, OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification
  • Master Plumber and Gasfitter License, OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification
  • Licenses/Certifications – HVAC Division
  • Journeyman HVAC License and Gasfitter License, Confined Space Certification, OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification
  • Master HVAC License and Gasfitter License, OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Body Positions: Standing, sitting, walking
  • Body Movements: Navigating all areas of construction site like environment including carrying items, use of department tools, climbing ladders, entering confined spaces
  • Work location – combination of office and field
