POSITION SUMMARY: The Market Manager is responsible for building strong partnerships across our organization and throughout their market. They are responsible for building and growing long-term relationships with valued customers through lead generation, prospecting, problem solving and maintaining clear and honest communication. The Market Manager meets regularly with prospective and existing customers to solve problems, perform presentations, and sell the value Independent Waste brings its partners - both internal and external. This position will have complete organizational support, but at the same time requires a leader that is willing to do the work, not just find someone to delegate the work to.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
All Market Managers are expected to build strong partnerships with three key areas of the company: driver partners, customer partners, and corporate partners. More specific examples are provided on the following pages.
Driver Partners
Order Management
Ensures driver success and efficiency by thoroughly organizing all job site details are entered in driver app
Prepares thorough and complete orders with necessary notations for drivers
Works to ensure driver capacity is utilized and driver partners are able to reach their full earning potential
Truck Assistance
Readily available to help troubleshoot and assist drivers with a variety of trucking needs (securing valuable fuel or tire programs, serving as liaison to a variety of trucking maintenance companies, etc.)
Work alongside Director of Operations to ensure drivers have the best trucking partnerships available within their market
Safety Coaching & Monitoring
Providing regular ELD feedback to drivers in an effort to promote a safe driving culture
Partnering with Director of Operations to compile regular feedback and growth opportunities for each driver
Help provide accountability to ensuring drivers remain DOT compliant in all areas (Hours of Service, DVIR, etc.)
Efficiency & Business Coaching
Learning the key metrics to driver profitability and providing regular feedback via one on one meetings (fuel efficiency, tire expense, drive time v. estimated time, etc.)
Customer Partners
Sales
Monitoring strategic construction projects, and ensuring Independent Waste is routinely well positioned for all bids and pre-negotiated jobs
Developing valuable and dependable relationships with existing customers, increasing the lifetime value of our existing accounts
Analyzing the health and profitability of existing customers and positioning Independent Waste for optimized profitability
Account Management
Building long term relationships via on site meetings, lunch and learn presentations, promotional gifts, sponsorships and association memberships.
Business Development
Strong account management and relationships should produce new business opportunities through existing and new lines of business
Customer Service
Serving as the last line of defense for escalated customer service issues, dispatch needs, and invoice monitoring
Corporate Partners
Working alongside Independent Waste’s management to develop and monitor key performance metrics
Strong partnership and communication with Director of Operations to best position our driver partners for success in key technical areas
Regular communication and collaboration with other market managers to help assist in cross-market saturation and efficiencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience. (Required)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience. (Required)
Valid driver’s license. (Required)
REWARDING COMPENSATION:
$90,000 base salary
$4,000 guaranteed minimum monthly commission, for first 12 months
2% monthly commission for all roll-off, heavy trucking and portable toilet customer revenue in the market
