Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and partiipate in day-to-day accounting functions, such as payroll, PTO, accounts payable and receivable, and bank statement reconciliation
- Coach/mentor accounting clerk(s)
- Summarize current financial status by preparing and presenting information for balance sheets, profit and loss statements, monthly financials and other reports (Daily Cash Report, etc.)
- Create and maintain the budget
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Create plans of action for improved financial well-being, which lead to cost reduction, enhanced revenue and improved profits
- Forecast
- Research, interpret and apply up-to-date accounting methods, policy and regulations
- Maintain company data and procedural confidentiality
- Work closely with a CPA firm to ensure federal, state and local financial legal compliance
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents and filing backups
- Work with other departments to create procedures and workflows that promote efficiency and productivity
