About the Role:
A day in the life: Our Tier 3 Equipment Mechanic will be highly skilled and experienced in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment and small engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
On a given day, as a Tier 3 Equipment Lead, you will:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical equipment, including small engines, power tools, trailers, pressure washers, paint sprayers, and commercial vehicles.
- Provide guidance and support to the lower-level tiers in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Coordinating outsourced equipment repairs as needed
- Respond promptly to emergencies, demonstrating the ability to adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of service history, parts inventory, and repair documentation.
- Assist with fleet vehicle upkeep, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotation, and general service.
- Adhere to company work safety policies.
- Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
Schedule & Travel:
This position works full-time, including day shift hours and weekends to accommodate the company's operational needs. This division would provide a flexible schedule. Although this department does not travel for work, we have three divisions that operate around the clock, seven days a week. There is a possibility that there may be occasions where you might need to travel and/or modify your schedule based on the requirements of other divisions.

The qualified candidate we seek is a Equipment Mechanic with these QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic completing equipment repairs.
- 3-5 years of in-depth knowledge of various equipment types.
- 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
And these COMPETENCIES:
- Mechanical Knowledge: Demonstrates an understanding of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Tool Proficiency: Competent in using a wide range of automotive and maintenance tools, including power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Documentation & Computer Skills: Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used, labor hours, and maintenance schedules. By utilizing a variety of computer applications including Google Suites (i.e.Word & Excel).
- Adaptability: Adapts to changing priorities and schedules as per the company's operational needs.
- Time Management: Efficiently manages time and work tasks to complete maintenance and repairs within deadlines.
- Professionalism: Maintains a professional demeanor, demonstrating dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic when interacting with FORJAK, customers, and vendors.
- Leadership and Supervision:Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire a team of mechanics. Ability to mentor and train junior mechanics, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment. Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
- Quality Control: Enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards in equipment maintenance. Attention to detail to identify potential issues and prevent future breakdowns.
- Continuous Learning: Proactive engagement in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Additional Qualifications Desired:
- Ability to perform basic welding, fabrication, and minor repairs.
- Basic wiring skills.
- Forklift or lift certifications are a plus.
