Temporary Dental Hygienist

Arizona Family Dental is excited to announce an opening for a Temporary Dental Hygienist position from October 9th to November 7th, 2024. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team on a full-time basis during this period. This role requires on-site attendance at our family-owned dental practice, as it is not eligible for remote work options.

This opportunity arises as one of our valued team members will be undergoing surgery and we need a skilled individual to cover her duties temporarily. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of dental care and customer service, and we require someone who can seamlessly integrate into our team and uphold these standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care to patients.
• Perform oral health assessments and report findings to dentists.
• Administer local anesthesia and manage pain control during dental procedures.
• Carry out routine cleanings as well as scaling and root planing for patients.
• Take dental X-rays and intraoral photographs as required.
• Collaborate closely with the dental assistant to optimize patient care during assisted hygiene sessions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of all patient interactions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene strategies and preventative dental care.
• Ensure the dental operatory is prepared before each patient's appointment and thoroughly cleaned afterwards.
• Monitor and maintain dental equipment and supplies, notifying management of any needs or malfunctions.
• Work collaboratively with dental staff to ensure a smooth workflow and timely management of the appointment schedule.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Arizona.
• Certified to administer dental anesthesia.
• Available to work the following schedule: Monday (7-4), Tuesday (9-6), Wednesday (9-6), and Thursday (9-6). Optional Friday hours available (8-5).
• Experience with both single column and assisted hygiene schedules preferred.
• Proficient in using dental technology, including digital X-rays and practice management software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient-centered service.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to adhering to all sanitization and sterilization protocols.
