Business Development Representative

NOTE: This is a remote, work-from-home position but candidates must live in Maryland.

 We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our RallyBright team.  Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. You will use your communication skills to cultivate a strong rapport with potential customers and set initial meetings with the sales team. 

The ideal candidate is a professional with previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. This position reports to our Sales Manager, supporting them in seeking new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Sales Manager to strategize your outbound approach to identifying opportunities in target accounts
  • Become an expert in our space, and be able to confidently articulate our value proposition to other decision-makers
  • Execute sales development best practices with email, phone, and social drips using enablement technology to connect with new prospects
  • Understand users’ pain points, gather requirements, and correlate business value to customer needs
  • Develop new business leads by executing outbound activities
  • Self-generate a contact list related to our Ideal Customer Profile
  • Collaborate with CEO, Sales Manager & other departments to help improve the scope of sales process and Ideal Customer Profile best fits to further enhance overall performance and attractiveness
  • Conduct discussions with prospects over the phone to identify and qualify opportunities
  • Utilize prospecting and research tools, coordinate with assigned reps to qualify opportunities; prepare for and book pitch meetings with target prospects
  • Follow up on and build qualified leads, establish rapport, cultivate relationships, and schedule initial meetings and demonstrations for the direct sales force
  • Provide the Sales team with detailed call notes to ensure the opportunity is understood and the next steps are clearly defined
  • Leverage experience with prospecting and list building tools (Zoominfo, Apollo.io, Lead Feeder, Sales Navigator, Lead IQ, Outreach.io, Lusha, Seamless.ai, Hunter.io) to self-generate contact lists and self prospect leads.
  • Report KPI results to the Sales Manager regularly
  • Present sales pitches, in a way that promotes the company brand and mission and helps the audience identify a need for the product
  • Study each product offered by the company and be able to persuasively educate and inform customers of how each works and its specifications; understand how to upsell
  • Investigate different organizational theories and provide suggestions for ways to optimize the sales process and Ideal Customer Profile

Requirements:

  • Confident, self-motivated, driven, hunter mentality, detail-oriented, and team player
  • 2+ years of successful BDR/SDR experience in a Top-of-Funnel SaaS sales role preferred
  • Specializing/experience in a start-up environment is a huge plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
  • Demonstrates strong adaptability, relationship building, situational awareness, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Conducted own lead sourcing through supporting tools and CRM
  • Experience with HubSpot CRM is a plus
  • History of overachieving and surpassing targets in past experiences
  • Very strong work ethic with confidence to work autonomously
  • Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills; decisive and results-oriented person who is prepared to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Eager to wear multiple hats and conquer new challenges daily
  • Comfortable with startup environments, including high ambiguity and flat organizational structure 
  • Understand and demonstrate integrity, respect, and the ability to develop positive relationships with managers, customers, and colleagues
