Position Summary
The Transportation/Driver is a PART-TIME position. You are responsible for safely transporting two clients (children with autism) from one location to another. Work schedule is approximately Mon-Fri 7:00-8:30 AM and Mon-Fri 3:30-5:00 PM. The clients will have an assigned Behavior Technician with them on the van. Our center where the clients are transported to is located near Power Road and University Dr. in Mesa. However, if you live in Queen Creek or San Tan Valley, that would be even more convenient since the van meeting location is there.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Meet at appointed locations on time in the morning to drive clients and Behavior Technicians to the center in Mesa
- Arrive at the center on time in the afternoon to drive clients and Behavior Technicians back to the meeting location in San Tan Valley
- Wash vehicles weekly, more often if needed
- Inspect vehicles daily for
- Damage
- Cleanliness
- Need for Gas
- Needed Maintenance
- Perform other assignments as needed
Minimum Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Ability to remain calm while driving and obey all traffic laws.
- Experience with Google Maps and using GPS navigation systems
- Ability to use a smart phone to clock in and use Microsoft to communicate with your supervisor
- Must be dependable and honest, performing duties independently with little supervision.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving vehicle violations in the past 3 years.
- A moving vehicle violation is defined as:
- Improper lane change
- Speeding
- Failure to yield
- Running red light or stop sign
- No major violation on record within the last 3 years
- A major violation is defined as:
- Reckless or negligent driving
- Driving while impaired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Fleeing or attempting to elude police officers
- Driving without a license or while a license is suspended or revoked
- Hit and Run or failure to stop after an accident
- Evading responsibility after an accident
- Ability to abide by Perseus Learning Center’s standard policies and procedures.
