We are a private clinic that provides Academic Support to individuals with autism. The Special Education Paraprofessional is responsible for creating an atmosphere that is positive for learning and that stimulates problem solving, decision-making, and behavior management with our clients--children with autism. The paraprofessional will work in a small classroom setting (1-3 clients at a time) alongside the Behavior Technicians, who are paired one-on-one with each client. This is a part time position as a long-term substitute from 8:30-2:30. It will begin in early August. Because you will be filling in for our regular Special Education teacher while she is away for awhile, this position will require leadership skills, such as a strong background in classroom management, leading a team, and creating lessons. Because we service children with autism, the lessons sometimes need to be adjusted and you will need creativity and flexibility with the lesson plans. We are a fairly new company and there is room for growth and future opportunities, depending upon your performance and professionalism. Once the long-term substitute position ends, there is room to remain with us in a similar position, and the option to moveto full-time.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Hourly pay ranges from $18-$20/hour depending upon experience.
If this position ends up moving to full-time, you will receive the following benefits:
