Position Summary
Our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT’s) play a vital role in implementing behavior reduction strategies for our clients--children with autism. This position is for an in-home RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) in Rimrock. The hours for this part-time position may vary, but will be primarily be between Mon-Fri 8:15 AM-4:15 PM. If you are not already a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you must be willing to complete the 40 Hour online Training course through Relias to become a certified RBT before your first day. You will be supported remotely by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) who is an expert in the field to support you as you grow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Basic knowledge of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
- Provides 1:1 ABA therapy to clients in a home-based environment
- Accept and incorporate corrective feedback given by supervising BCBA and or Supervisors, ensuring cohesion of services
- Following and implementing the supervising BCBA’s treatment plan and recommendations in a fun and child-friendly demeanor when working with clients
- Correctly use Catalyst for client session data recording and timely timesheet management (training provided)
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships through pairing with service members
- Incorporates and promotes Natural Environment Teaching throughout session
- Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers
- Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding
- Provides regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals and maladaptive behaviors
- Ensures that service member is in a safe and positive environment at all times
- Creates and implements antecedent strategies to reduce maladaptive behaviors
- Gives behavior support which includes physical management (training provided upon hire)
- Proactively learns and develops ABA and other behavior therapy techniques under the direction of the BCBA
- Learns reasoning behind academic lessons to meet the service member’s needs
- Seeks additional training from the BCBA
- Exercises open and respectful communication with families and supervisors while maintaining professional boundaries
- Seeks feedback pertaining to job responsibilities and advancement opportunities
- Follows the policies and procedures of Perseus Learning Center
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times when working with clients, families, and supervisors
- Attends and executes professional development, trainings, and staff meetings
- Attends weekly supervision meetings with supervisor
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Must be willing to complete the 40-hour Relias RBT Training course BEFORE your first day
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in behavior-based programming for individuals with Autism or other disabilities
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current RBT License (passed the RBT Exam)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field
- Applied Behavior Analysis Intervention experience
- ABA Software Data Collection Experience (Catalyst, or equivalent software)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. This position involves primarily medium to heavy work. Must be able to carry out duties of frequent lifting/carrying objects between 25-50 pounds. Job also requires bending, stooping, and getting up and down on the floor easily with clients.
