Artistic Dental at the Biltmore is searching for an experienced Hygienist(s) to fit into our very busy, high tech, friendly practice. Part Time to Full Time position is an option for the right candidate. Multiple options for days and hours. We have been serving Phoenix for 21 years and continue to thrive and advance in the dental community. We have two dentists with amazing credentials supported by a team of 15+ in general dentistry as well as implants, orthodontics, and other specialty procedures. A hygienist with a great work ethic and the ability to connect with patients. A hygienist that not only focusses on the cleaning, but takes the time to address the patient's dental health, patient education, home care and building rapport. A hygienist with a gentle touch and pleasant personality. We allow ample time for discussion, x-rays, photos, exam, and the cleaning. We would ask that you clean the operatory, instruments, and restock, as time allows. We do have a dental auxiliary to assist with instruments and room turn over for all. Laser license is a plus but not required.
Dental Hygienist Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cleaning accretions, calcareous deposits, and stains of teeth and beneath gum borders with dental equipment
- By touching lymph nodes under patients’ chins for evidence of soreness or swelling, doctors can look for signs of mouth cancer
- Making a note of and evaluating the patient’s medical history
- Dental decay and disease are recorded in order for dentists to diagnose and treat them
- Keeping the dental equipment and x-ray machine in good working order
- Examining and feeling the gums for symptoms of disease, sores, and other dental problems
- Digital Imaging and Perio Charting
- Dental instruments are sterilized
- To improve patient oral health, promote preventative dental treatment
- Fluoride recommendations as needed
- Collaboration with dentists and other dental hygienists
- Maintaining a patient dental hygiene regimen
Dental Hygienist Requirements:
- An associate’s degree in hygiene from a recognized institution is required
- Hygiene license issued by the state
- CPR certification is current
- Hepatitis B immunization is current
- Possess the ability to give local anesthetics
- Possessing the ability to use an x-ray machine
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
- Comfortable with dental software, preferably Dentrix
- Oral hygiene and dental health are topics on which they are well-versed
- Great bedside manner
