Child Nutrition Compliance Specialist (Contract)

MH Miles Company, CPA, PC specializes in USDA child nutrition programs throughout the United States.  We are a certified public accounting firm with offices in Decatur, Georgia, Douglasville, GA, and Washington, DC. Our firm and its affiliates consist of certified public accountants, certified fraud examiners, management consultants, registered dieticians, and support staff who have substantial experience in serving commercial concerns of all sizes, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies. 

We are seeking experienced child nutrition program specialists to conduct virtual compliance monitoring reviews for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  This position is responsible for the completion of CACFP administrative reviews for various State Agencies (SA).   The primary responsibility is to properly determine CACFP compliance with Program regulations and SA policies.  This contract position is 100% remote. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor, evaluate, and analyze USDA child nutrition program compliance with all required federal and state rules, regulations, guidance, policies, and procedures
  • Complete assigned engagements timely with the related CACFP review tools
  • Complete and maintain sufficient workpapers to support each report
  • Provide technical assistance to CACFP subrecipients when appropriate
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, nutrition or related field
  • 2 years’ experience with Federal and State Regulations of child nutrition programs, specifically the CACFP
  • Ability to accurately identify program noncompliance
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Effective organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to use technology to streamline/enhance processes
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom
