Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in property management accounting and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, experience managing payroll systems, and the ability to ensure compliance and accuracy in all financial and payroll-related operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for property management operations, including AP/AR, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Process payrolls for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure proper onboarding of new employees into payroll systems.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for individual properties and corporate entities.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts, including benefits, taxes, and retirement contributions, with the general ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance reports for the real estate portfolio.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, including NOI, budgets, and cash flow projections.
  • Manage property-related tax filings, audits, and compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Utilize property management and payroll software (e.g., Yardi, ADP, or similar systems) to ensure seamless financial and payroll tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in property management accounting.
  • Proven experience managing payroll operations, including tax filings and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software Rent Manager preferred (e.g., Yardi, ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and payroll regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
