Defined Role: This high visibility role will focus primarily on modeling new acquisitions, investor reporting, loan closings, market research, the sourcing and due diligence of new acquisitions and partners and tracking of performance metrics and strategy for a portfolio of newly constructed and existing multi-family real estate assets throughout the Southeast United States. This position supports our Vice President with reporting and due diligence required to meet the performance goals and ensure deals in the pipeline are progressing efficiently. This position will also work directly with development, construction, marketing, and the accounting.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop and refine tailored real estate financial tools and business models using Excel to support the decision-making process for real estate transactions.
  • Lead in preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations.
  • Prepare and maintain the weekly and monthly update performance reports on assets, including KPI’s and dashboard metrics– recommend strategies to meet/exceed goals.
  • Perform necessary analytical tasks as related to the review of loan docs, appraisals, expenditures, insurance, investor reporting, draw requests and other tasks.
  • Research and evaluate market data for asset submarket community comp set; rents, concessions, absorption, and expenses. 
  • Support the equity sourcing process by identifying and screening opportunities and their alignment with our core investment themes
  • Update due diligence checklist to provide to internal stakeholders, including weekly follow-ups on checklist status 
  • Review and provide feedback on variance reports for monthly operating statements, annual operating budgets and business plans for new assets.
  • Create sales packages and participate in due diligence for asset disposition.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ Years of Real Estate Experience  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate or a related field of study
  • Exceptional communication skills, including ability to write, pitch and present compelling content
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, analytical talent and attention to detail
  • Existing relationships in the investor community or experience cold calling and fundraising is preferred
  • Experience and passion for real estate investing is a must
  • Proven track record for developing and implementing successful outreach strategies
  • Ability to develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients, residents, vendors and/or any other representative of external organizations
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a team player
