Defined Role: This high visibility role will focus primarily working on site as an Owners Development Coordinator/Representative for new class A Multifamily communities. Skills required include a detailed knowledge of construction techniques and building codes as well as the ability to read/interpret Architectural and Civil construction drawings. You will report directly to the President of the development company. Good communication skills will be necessary to coordinate with contractors on the construction site so they see you as an advocate not an interference, and at the same time maintain a focus on assisting the development team to deliver the best possible product for the owner in a timely manner. Computer skills will be necessary to communicate with the owner’s office personnel and third party consultants. Applicants should have a minimum of two years construction field supervision at a level of assistant superintendent field engineer or higher.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  •  Report to the President of Tierra Linda Development and provide support in all areas of the development process as requested
  • Position will be on project site 90% to 95% of the time
  • Oversee the construction progress for conformity to contract documents and keep President and Development Manager informed
  • Track the project schedules and advise President and Development of challenges and progress by contractor and sub-contractors
  • Report any non-conforming work to President and Development Manager
  • Advise on corrections required and suggestions for best method of achieving same
  • Communicate with on-site contractor personnel in an advisory and helpful manner to assist in improving workflow, cleanliness and quality of work
  • Goal is for contractor to see you as an asset who will assist them to more expeditiously complete the construction.
  • Coordinate with Assistant Development Manager in preparation of and maintaining the weekly and monthly update performance reports of progress on each project through construction.
  • Assist the Development Manager with preparation of communications to the contractor including notices, guidance and change orders
  • Review design documents and provide comments and guidance
  • Assist Development Manager when requested to review contract documents with regard to clarifications, alternates, allowances, and value engineering
  • Assist Development Manager to update project status and compliance reports 
  • Maintain excellent communications with development and interdepartmental staff 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of Multifamily Real Estate Experience as field supervisor at level of assistant superintendent field engineer or higher
  • Exceptional communication skills, including ability to write effectively
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills, analytical talent and attention to detail
  • Experience and passion for real estate development is a must
  • Proven track record for assisting in construction or developing and implementing successful real estate projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with third party consultants, contractors, and vendors 
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills a plus
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a team player
