Salary Range:  $17.00 - $18.00 hour

Our Central kitchen is located in Seattle's South Park neighborhood.

Here our team works throughout the day and night, to produce for all our stores, catering, food truck, and wholesale as well as home delivery

Experience in food establishment and kitchens are especially considered.

Part-time, full-time and seasonal positions available!

Shifts range throughout a 24 hour period, 7 days a week.

Starting wage is $17.00/hour + tips (on average of 4-6/hour additional!)

Description:

The Production Pastry Maker is responsible for the making of pastry/ piroshky menu, including seasonal items. Following standard design and quantities for fillings, the production pastry maker creates and stores according to par numbers and assigned numbers by management. The production pastry maker is in charge of producing and creating consistent products, with their unique signature shapes and hand designs, following company standards for speed and quality.

Position Duties:

  • Review Production needs with supervisor to determine variety and quantity of product to make. Follow instruction as well as be able to plan your day based on business needs.
  • Make variety of dough for pastries, piroshkies, rolls, cookies and other pastries, according to established recipes, with consistency and speed, and conservation of resources.
  • Have ability to successfully meet established par numbers/quota determined, based on company standards.
  • Prep of Piroshky and pastry fillings as well as garnishes, using established production procedures and systems. (Including cooking, baking, mixing, dicing, slicing, cutting, coring of product)
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.
  • Observe proper food prep and safe handling techniques, keeping track of time to ensure safety of product, according to health department guidelines.
  • Report production numbers
  • Rotate using FIFO system
  • Detect and ensure disposal of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or report other unusual conditions to manager. Self-monitor quality of produced items.
  • Other various duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 1+ year experience working in food setting
  • 1+ year baking experience (preferred)
  • Ability to get to work on time for scheduled shifts

Working Environment:

  • Work in bakery/kitchen setting, which includes exposure to high amounts of flour, spices, meat scents, high temperatures, relative humidity, continuous repetitive movement, heavy lifting of about 50 lbs, and use of industrial size bakery and kitchen equipment.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 300 lbs in all directions.

Since starting our bakery at the Pike Place Market two decades ago we integrated the last of the Northwest into our own traditional recipes. Our Piroshkies are individually made from scratch and hand-molded into their very own unique shapes.
