Bakery cleaner is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the store each night in preparation of the next day's business. A significant portion of the shift is carried out during operating hours while remaining time is executed after hours. PM Shift is 2:00pm - 10:00pm. Our Pike Place Market location is open from 8:00am - 7:00pm.

Position Duties:
- Arrive on time & ready to work for scheduled shift
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule comprised of afternoons/evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Be able to follow instructions and prioritize tasks
- Observe all safety and health regulations set by both the county, and state
- Greet customers, friendly & knowledgeably
- Observe and use safety words and protocols while maneuvering and working in bakery
- Manual dishwashing of all dishes and bakery utensils and baking tools
- Cleaning after closing, including but not limited to:
- Ovens
- Equipment
- Display Cases
- Worktables
- Fridges/Freezers
- Shelves
- Sinks
- Floors
- Windows
- Customer Area
- Trash
- Completing scheduled special and deep cleaning tasks/projects
- Ensuring the secure closure of the store when finished for the night
- Make sure all equipment is turned off, fridges and freezers are closed, and other things are in order during a final walk-through
- Be able to effectively communicate with management regarding any maintenance or equipment issues. Communication with management regarding cleaning task on a daily basis
- Other various duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US, per state & federal law
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- 1 + year of janitorial experience
- Possess or obtain valid permits needed for position, keeping current throughout duration of employment
- Dependable transportation
- Flexible schedule

Working Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work in the bakery setting, which includes exposure to high amounts of flour, spices, and meat smells
- Must be comfortable with different working environments the job entrails (high volume customers, crowded areas, basement area, etc.)
- Must be comfortable working in front of the public, offend displaying your work processes to onlookers while being photographed and engaged in conversation with the public/customers
- Constantly moving self in different positions to accomplish task in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Frequently remaining in a stationary positions often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks and frequent moving from one worksite to another
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 300 pounds in all directions, lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering heavy , tall carts as needed safely
- Constantly communicating loudly, effectively, and safely with others to exchange information, warning other staff of their presence and movements to meet safety practice standards
- Be able to exchange safety communication and direction from other staff while working in a loud environment
- Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Frequently operating machinery and oven equipment
- Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
