FOH Shift Leader

Salary Range:  $19.00 - $19.00 hour

The front of house shift lead assists supervisors on monitoring day to day FOH operations at the bakery. The shift lead serves as a model for FOH Cashier & Line Management positions, exemplifying the company's cultures, standards & protocols. 

Essential job responsibilities & functions to include, but not limited to:

  • Display an affinity for our products, core values and company philosophy
  • Attend team meetings with 100% attendance
  • Create & maintain company culture
  • Conduct all duties and actions in a safe and secure manner, following safety guidelines and well as all company policies & procedures
  • Be able to work in a diverse team, stay consistently professional and always follow safety standards

Position Duties:

  • Requesting money
  • Enforcing breaks & lunches
  • Initiating UW coverage, reporting tardiness to supervisor and on EOD
  • Overseeing efficient of staff at positions
  • Oversee line management needs
  • Food tour oversight
  • Monitor online order and prep for timely pick-up
  • Purchases up to $50
  • Immediate reporting of policy violations
  • Immediately reports potential safety hazards in equipment and facility
  • Providing refunds, basic troubleshooting for POS
  • Daily EOD report
  • POS Money Management (Overflow of money drop, filling register with appropriate change, etc.)
  • Initiating restocking/supply runs regularly
  • Ongoing coaching & training of cashier staff
  • Be proficient on all cashier & line management job duties
  • Be proficient on all flour positions (cashiering, food back, dishwashing, line management)
  • Trained in opening/closing of bakery, including cleaning procedures
  • Other various duties as assigned

Requirement:

  • Authorized to work in the US per state & federal law
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to verbally communicate in English effectively and comfortably
  • Must have 3+ months being a Piroshky Piroshky cashier
  • Possess/obtain & keep current all necessary licenses/permits required for the position throughout duration of employment
  • Food handling experience & customer service experience strongly considered
  • Must be available to work weekends/holidays as needed
  • Must be available to work shifts starting as early as 7am and ending as late as 8pm
  • Ability to get to work on time for scheduled shifts
  • Ability to learn, retain information & follow instructions
  • Follow all company procedures & protocols

Working Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Work in the bakery setting, which includes exposure to high amount of flour, spices, and meat smells
  • Must be comfortable with the different working environments the job entails (high volume customers, crowded areas, basement area, etc.)
  • Must be comfortable working in front of the public, often displaying your work processes to onlookers while being photographed and engage in conversation with the public/customers
  • Constantly moving self in direct positions to accomplish tasks in various environment including tight and confined spaces
  • Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks and frequently moving from on workout to another
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 300 pounds in all directions, lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering heavy, tall cars as needed safely
  • Constantly communication loudly, effectively, and safely with others to enhance information, warning other staff of their presents and movement to meet safety practice standards. 
  • Be able to exchange safety communication and direction from other staff while working in a loud environment
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists hand and/or fingers
  • Frequently operating machinery and oven equipment
  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned

Since starting our bakery at the Pike Place Market two decades ago we integrated the tase of the Northwest into our own traditional recipes. Our Piroshkies are individually made from scratch and hand-molded into their very own unique shapes. Customers are delighted to find that this makes differentiating between them an easier task.
