Salary Range:  $17.00 - $17.00 hour

Piroshky Baking Company is hiring immediately for a production prep & dish washing position. 

The production prep position is responsible for the making of dough & dough product, mixing of sweet filling as well as cutting, mixing, and cooking of savory fillings, following company standards for speed & quality. 

Part-time, full-time and seasonal positions available!

Shifts range throughout a 24 hour period, 7 days a week.

Starting wage is $17.00/hour + tips (on average of 4-6/hour additional!)

Essential Job Responsibilities & Functions to include, but not limited to:

  • Display an affinity for our products, core values & company philosophy
  • Attend team meetings with 100% attendance
  • Create and maintain company culture
  • Conduct all duties and actions in a safe and secure manner, following safety guidelines as well as all company policies & procedures
  • Be able to work in a diverse team, stay consistently professional & always follow safety standards
  • Come to work on time & ready to work - uniformed, properly equipped, apron, non-slip shoes, hairnet, & gloves
  • Ability to set up work station; maintain a clean & safe workspace
  • Review production needs with supervisor to determine variety & quantity of product to make
  • Follow supervisor instructions & ability to plan work day based on business needs
  • Prep piroshky, pastry fillings, & garnishes using established production procedures and systems. 
  • Have ability to successfully meet establish par numbers/quota determined, bases on company standards
  • Store perishable food properly & safely: Date, Item & Name
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • Observe proper food production, safe handling techniques & tracking of time to ensure safety of product, per health department guidelines
  • Report production numbers and misc. reports as required
  • Rotate and use FIFO (First In, First Out)
  • Detect and ensure disposal of spoiled, unattractive food, defective supplies, making sure to report other unusual conditions to supervisor
  • Safely operate speed racks around the kitchen, as well as ramps in the fridge/freezer, asking for assistance when needed
  • Assists with training of new employees
  • Work in collaboration with production team to fulfill baking needs
  • Bake hot orders for on-demand delivery - including timing of baking, bagging, and notifying office of order completion (as needed)
  • Other varies duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to get to work on time for scheduled shifts
  • possess or obtain valid permits needed for positions, keeping current throughout duration of employment
  • At least 1 year experience working in food setting
  • At least 1 year baking experience *preferred
  • Ability to use cleaning chemicals properly & safely
  • Ability to use kitchen machinery & oven safely
  • Ability to learn, retain information & follow instructions
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Follow all company procedures & protocols

Working Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work in a bakery/kitchen setting, which includes exposure to high amounts of flour, spices, meat scents, high temperatures, relative humidity, continuous repetitive movement, heavy lifting minimum of 50 lbs, and use of industrial size bakery & kitchen equipment. 
  • Work in the kitchen setting, which include spatial awareness of self & co-workers using large equipment and sharp utensils around you
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 300 lbs in all directions, lifting up to 500 lbs &  maneuvering heavy, tall carts as needed safely
  • Work on feet for the duration of shift
  • Verbally warn people of your presence to meeting safety protocols
  • Follow all company policies & procedures

Blending traditional recipes with local flavors, our selection of Piroshkies offering a wide array of choices, both savory and sweet. Since starting our bakery at the Pike Place Market two decades ago we integrated the last of the Northwest into our own traditional recipes. Our Piroshkies are individually made from scratch and hand-molded into their very own unique shapes. 

Our central kitchen is located in Seattle's South Park neighborhood. Here our team works throughout the day & night to produce for stores, catering, pop-up events, wholesale delivery & home delivery.
