Develop, plan, design and provide professional certification of plans and specifications related to landscape, greening, irrigation systems, and grading projects
Design in-house landscape and greening projects and land use planning projects
Supervise the preparation of drawings and specifications for landscaping and changes in existing landscape
Supervise the development and processing of Design Service Proposals for landscape design projects
Collaborate with in-house design managers, engineers, and architects for landscape design projects and greening projects
Coordinate and finalize design plans with LAUSD Technical staff, project planning staff, and Maintenance and Operations staff for design projects and greening projects
Finalize coordination plans with school principals, teachers, non-profit groups, and parent groups for landscape design and greening projects
Review, approve and negotiate task orders
Manages landscape and greening projects related to researching the scope of work, preparing project cost estimates, material selection, equipment and installation, and methods of delivery and costs
Conduct site visits and monitor progress of landscape design and greening projects
Review and approves documents for grant applications
Reviews specifications and drawings to ensure District policies and procedures for landscape related practices are implemented
Performs other relevant duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Required Experience:
Minimum eight (8) years professional experience in landscape architectural design on commercial or public agency projects, preferably in school or university projects
Experience with AutoCAD design software system
Proficiency in computer office software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.)
Experience with graphic design and rendering software (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, others)
Required Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture
Required License:
A valid certificate of registration as a licensed Landscape Architect issued by the California State Board of Landscape Architects
Additional Requirements:
Extensive experience in AutoCad and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Revit, Rhino and Lumion experience is preferred

Knowledge of planting design, materials, and technical aspects of landscape architecture
Review of construction documents, specifications and contracts
Construction administration experience, as well as experience coordinating with a range of consultants including civil, electrical, and structural engineers
Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
