Position Description: Cost Schedule Engineer 1 (CSE 1)
Minimum Education Level:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or construction management or related discipline or comparable experience.
Minimum Technical Abilities
Cost and schedule control duties. Assists the Program Controls Supervisor with Earned Value Management, and quantifying cost and schedule risks for school projects.
Basic licenses, certifications, and/or registrations to be obtained within an established time frame upon hire
Primavera Project Management (P6) Fundamentals training certificate within two months of hire. AACEI affiliation, PMI Affiliation, CMAA CMIT affiliation a plus.
Performance Skills:
Position requires good time management, written and oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. Must exhibit professionalism and the ability to learn the district's Primavera Unifier, Primavera P6 schedule programs and departmental procedures.
Position Role:
This position reports to the Program Controls Supervisor within the Fiscal Controls group of the Facilities Planning and Construction Division. The program controls team consists of professionals who provide support to the various facilities capital improvements.
Under the guidance of Lead Cost Schedule Engineer and Senior Cost Scheduler Engineers, the individual assists the Project Manager with forecasting cost at completion, processing projects Records of Change, and quantifying costs risks for school projects. Runs reports, reviews data, and ensures that costs are assigned to the appropriate cost center in conformance with district policies and procedures. Interfaces with district Contract Specialists to ensure correct cost coding payment request processing of Contractor and Vendor invoices. Assists in the financial closeout of project and contracts. Assists the construction management team as related to cost and schedule for projects.
The CSE 1 assists the program controls team and project managers with updates of project schedules in P6 and cost data in Primavera Unifier.
