Job Duties

• Responsible for providing inspections in accordance with various building codes and quality assurance standards
• Involved in projects with construction management
• Manager of Quality Assurance, lead field Inspector of Record and project managers as field liaison with contractors and campus clients
• Analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Track daily construction progress and coordinate with other inspectors
• Ability to maintain an effective building inspection team with strong leadership
• Perform other duties related to those above
• Monitor and document daily construction activity, equipment and personnel.
• Interpret construction documents and applicable codes.
• Verify conformance with the contract and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in construction progress meetings.
• Support commissioning including oversight of contractor startup and testing activities.
• Verify conformance of materials and equipment with approved shop drawings/submittals.
• Assist the CM in the resolution of field issues.
• Review Contractor RFIs and provide input to the A/E as necessary to expedite responses.
• Coordinate and oversee specialized testing and inspections.
• Prepare daily construction reports and maintain accurate records of tests and inspections.
• Monitor work performance and document variations from established schedules.
• Assist in the evaluation of change order proposals.
• Evaluate contractor payment requisitions.
• Monitor work activity for conformance with site safety requirements

Education

• High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years construction experience 

or

• Bachelors Degree in any field with a minimum of 7 years of construction experience 

Qualifications

• Lead inspector on projects valued at $5 million or more
• Knowledge of techniques and methods of general construction
• Exceptional project management skills
• Able to manage teams of 15-20 staff.
