Salary Range:  $72 - $82 hour

Position Description Summary

Provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management. Assigned to the APM Systems Lead and focusing primarily on system elements such as communications, information technology, power distribution, station and guideway equipment, and safety certification.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist the APM Systems Lead in the receipt, distribution and administration of submittals and transmittals. Emphasis on correspondence management, documentation and response to submittals, including Bluebeam sessions. Emphasis on correspondence management, documentation and response to submittals, and prepares management information status report, as required.

• Develops spreadsheets with charts to identify status of the Developer Systems inspection and testing to analyze progress of acceptance. Includes schedule and resource requirements for both the Developer and Client.

• Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work to ensure submittals and transmittals are posted efficiently and in a timely manner. Distribute documents, submittals, transmittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses.

• Manage electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.

• Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain expediting logs; etc.

Hardware/Software Knowledge

• Prolog and Bluebeam experience is highly desirable.

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of engineering experience supporting projects of similar size/scope/complexity, preferably on an APM or rail transit project.

• Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction program and the ability to communicate progress to both technical and management level personnel.

• Capability to assume additional responsibilities.

• Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.


Education/Training

• B.S./B.A. in related field (Construction Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
