Manufacturing Manager - Weekend Shift
Position Overview:
This position serves as a focal point for all weekend shift manufacturing operations within CMI’s South Campus. The will result in result in timely delivery of parts meeting customer requirements and CMI’s standards.
The Manufacturing Manager- Weekend Shift is responsible to actively lead all production activities of the site for the night shift. This position is responsible for ensuring safety & quality requirements are met, driving continuous improvement, meeting established schedules in a cost effective manner while exceeding customers' delivery schedules and service expectations. This position requires coordination of work with night shift leads, night shift members, day shift production managers, among other functional leaders.
This position reports to the VP of Operations - South. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary and will directly or indirectly supervise up to 60 employees, with normal working hours Fri, Sat, Sun 6am-6:30pm and Monday 6am-10am.

Key Responsibilities & areas of focus:
- Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates, including direction on priorities and policies
- Ensure agreed manufacturing schedule obligations are met, with an emphasis on cost control and improved efficiencies
- Hold employees accountable for hitting assigned targets/requirements for safety, quality, & delivery
- Set and monitor manufacturing performance levels to meet quality and delivery requirements, with effective production costs
- Meet with day shift and night shift production managers to review safety, quality and production issues, ensuring clean handoffs between shifts optimizing output
- Use of Time Card computer system to track and report member’s attendance
- Following CMI’s procedures in relation to employee performance reviews & disciplinary action (verbal, written warnings)
- Use of Anvil shop management computer system
- Lock up the buildings at the end of shift
- Support and drive quality and efficiency related projects across the campus; change & project management, including but not limited to Corrective Action responses and continuous improvement ideas
- Implement best practices and process standardization, including capacity sharing
- Coordinate and promote communications with senior managers to maintain highest standards of cooperation and understanding in all business matters
- Continuous analysis of plant Load and Capacity drives decisions related to manpower allocations, capital equipment, and support staffing
- Ongoing analysis of financial performance drives decisions related to continuous improvement activities, purchasing decisions, and shop prioritizing
Education and/or Experience:
- 5+ years leadership experience
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written to all levels of an organization
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs
- College degree preferred, but not required with equivalent experience
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse the production facility.
