We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented team member to become our full-time Front Office Coordinator and has back office dental assisting experience. Qualified candidates will possess the following experience, qualities, knowledge, and competencies:
- Knowledge of dentistry and dental codes
- Dental software knowledge (Open Dental)
- Present a professional image (both in-person and over the phone)
- Have professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Perform tasks with accuracy, attention to detail, and within specified periods
- Be punctual and customer service oriented
- Greet guests in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner
- Answer the telephone in a timely and professional manner
- Schedule appointments in accordance with office guidelines Ensure that all patient appointments are confirmed
- Post charges and payments accurately in patient accounts
- Assist patients with the completion of paperwork
- Coordinate front and back office patient flow
- Notify back-office staff of each patient’s arrival
- Ensure that all new patient appointments have a referral source attached
- Accurately complete insurance benefit breakdowns
- Confirm receipt of lab cases one day prior to the patient’s appointment
- Ensure that all patients due for recall or continuation of treatment are scheduled for an appointment at the appropriate time
- Maintain a clean and welcoming front office environment
- Provide assistance to the Office Manager in performing front office tasks
- Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other pertinent laws or regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, HR policies and practices)
- AHCCCS knowledge Have a sense of urgency in your daily tasks
- Assist the dentist in utilizing proper four-handed dentistry techniques, observing universal precautions
- Assumes the standards of care related to infection control; upholding all OSHA and safety guidelines
- Expose and digitally record ordered radiographs
- Maintain dental operatories in an organized and clean fashion, assuring appropriate instruments and supplies are available
- Maintain patient comfort before, during, and after dental procedures
- Review post-operative care instructions with patients
- Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization
- Sterilize and/or disinfect instruments, handpieces, and ancillary equipment
- Assist office and doctor in maintaining patient records and informed consent documents
- Chart existing dentistry and current conditions in a computerized dental chart
- Take impressions (physical & digital) for various prosthetic procedures and study models
