Dental Sterile Technician

Salary Range:  $12.00 - $16.00 hour

We are in search of a dynamic sterile technician to join our team. Your role involves the safe-handling of all dental instruments and small equipment used during a dental procedure, including disposable products and sterilizable instruments. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, energetic, personable, and detail-oriented, along with being committed to carrying out their duties with precision and pride. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in setting-up and breaking down treatment rooms

  • Complete understanding of contamination and sterile protocols

  • Properly disposing of single-use items

  • Properly handle and dispose of biohazardous materials and items

  • Inspect both singles and sets of instruments for hardened debris, wear and tear

  • Clean and prepare dental instruments for sterilization

  • Clean, lubricate, and prepare dental handpieces for sterilization

  • Learn the necessary bagging, wrapping, and cassette preparation techniques

  • Utilizing sterilization equipment, including ultrasonic, autoclave and statim

  • Clean and disinfect equipment, tubing, and operatories using various chemical agents

  • Perform record keeping activities associated with sterilization, including recording of biological results of sterilization testing, updating the handpiece log

  • Properly store sterilized and disinfected instruments and materials

  • Participate in surface disinfection activities using approved cleaning and disinfecting detergents and other chemical agents in all work areas

  • Participate in restocking activities in all work areas which may include: disposable supplies, materials dispensed to team members and patients, restocking of cleaning and disinfecting agents, all items necessary for sterilization

  • Participate in cleaning work area, cleaning sterilization equipment using manufacturer-recommended cleaning agents, and in simple equipment maintenance such as inspecting and cleaning traps and drains

  • Maintain any repair logs necessary
