POSITION SUMMARY
The Hygienist at Burns Dentistry is a key member of the team, working closely with our dentists to ensure a dynamic and memorable patient experience. This role is responsible for the delivery of exceptional dental care through conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth, and educating patients on oral health and preventative care. The Hygienist is the patient’s advocate throughout their dental experience, providing meaningful patient feedback with compassion.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Create a positive and individualized experience for each patient
- Build rapport with patients to ensure a memorable smile
- Ensure patients are well educated on their dental plan including homecare plan
- Schedule patient follow-up appointments, accommodating for potential scheduling conflicts
- Identify areas of concern such as gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Maintain current health history, documentation, and charts on each patient
- Maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment inventory, and other ancillary duties

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), (Required)
- Registered Dental Hygienist license, (Required)
- Laser Certification (Preferred), open to become certified within 30 days, (Required)
- 2 years of Hygiene experience, (Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Requires ability to occasionally lift up to 25lbs
