Experienced in workforce development with a focus on enhancing the success of individuals in the community? Find out more about this opportunity with Kennedy Children's Center.
The ROLE of the Workforce Coordinator
More than 25,000 children between 3-5 years old are mandated to receive special education preschool services in New York City. However, a critical shortage of teacher assistants means that thousands of children with disabilities are sitting at home, without a seat in a classroom. Kennedy Children's Center (KCC) is addressing this critical staffing shortage through Grow Your Own (GYO), a six-week training program that recruits adults from low-income communities and trains them to become certified ECS teacher assistants, at no cost to them.
KCC Workforce Coordinators (WFCs) are key to GYO's success. Each WFC recruits participants for quarterly training cohorts, manages the six week training, and helps graduates secure positions in education upon program completion. KCC is seeking an organized, flexible team player who is passionate about high quality education to join a small but mighty team and make a difference in the lives of adult learners and the children they will teach!
