Speech Language Pathologist

Salary Range:  $77000 - $95000 year

Our client, Kennedy Children’s Center, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for their Bronx location (100% on-site, not remote). Kennedy Children's Center provides high quality education services to young children with developmental delays, in partnership with families and communities.

You will be responsible for the quality of speech and language therapy services incorporating state of the art knowledge of children’s needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide evaluation and therapy services as assigned.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to determine diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide consultation on speech and language issues to teaching staff and other related personnel and programs.
  • Provide counseling to families regarding their child’s speech and language development and stimulation.
  • Participate in in-service training and supervision.
  • Maintain and make available to the Speech Supervisor all records and reports required by the department and the Agency.
  • Perform other assigned duties as defined and directed by the Speech Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college. (Required)
  • New York State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (Required)
  • New York State certification as a TSSH/TSSLD. (Required)
  • NPI approval number.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. (Required)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Maintains knowledge of current developments in the field of speech and language pertinent to the work of the Agency.
  • Effective planning and problem-solving.
  • Must be well versed in the EasyTRAC system, as well as other special education/related services software.
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills.
  • Must be able to work in collaboration with other staff members across departments and work sites.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish an added advantage
  • Consistently able to supervise children outside while exposed to the sun, rain, and/or weather and temperature changes adhering to the playground rules and gym play zones.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Consistently able to lift children up to 50 pounds from floor to waist height.
  • Consistently able to observe and respond to children’s needs, emergencies, and/or conflicts that might occur in the classroom, playground, and in common areas.
  • Consistently able to deal effectively with working closely with children, parents, co-workers, and administration.
