Our client KMRD is seeking an Account Manager for the Employee Benefits division.
The Employee Benefits Account Manager/Employee Benefits Consultant is responsible for the day-to-day management of an assigned block of employee benefits clients. As an account manager and benefits consultant, this position is responsible for solving complex customer service issues, preparing RFPs, working with insurance markets on plan design and pricing, developing and recommending benefit funding strategies, developing and recommending benefit plan designs, maintaining data integrity, and taking the lead on renewals. The Employee Benefits Account Manager/Employee Benefits Consultant serves as the client’s primary point of contact for all issues and services related to the account. This role can be completed remotely on a hybrid schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Provide client services and serve as the day-to-day contact on benefit plan matters; respond within 1 business day. If issue is not resolved immediately, communicate regularly with clients on actions taken and timeline for resolution.
- Collecting required information for obtaining benefit plan pricing from insurance carriers and general agents
- Leading on designated renewals; prepare RFPs, collect and review competitive proposals, negotiate with carriers, prepare renewal presentations illustrating market offerings and present recommendations
- Provide administrative support to assigned clients
- Resolve client service issues and concerns directly
- Support senior level team members
- Escalate client concerns when appropriate
- Maintain data integrity and quality with any applicable technology platforms in a timely manner
- Generate interest in additional lines of coverage and cross serving opportunities
- Coordinate employee communications and open enrollment meetings
- Oversee new client set-up, renewals and open enrollment meetings
- Educate clients on applicable legislation and market trends
- Advise clients on employee benefits compliance
- Collaborate and supervise assigned third party service providers assigned to the client
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and related programs
- Work closely with Account Executive and Producer to ensure client needs are fully communicated throughout the team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Maintain active Life & Health Agents License.
- BA/BS in business administration, risk management, human resources management, or related field. Industry certifications are a plus. 3-5 years of employee benefits account management experience in the middle market segment.
- Must have a working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), strong oral and written communication skills, current licensing in appropriate lines of authority; and proficient in the use of appropriate technology.
- Must have familiarity with carrier products and underwriting guidelines.
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
- Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions.
