Director of Strategy

Salary Range:  $175000 - $225000 year

VIVO Agency is a marketing industry leader specializing in the medical device, diagnostics, and healthcare IT space. They utilize strategy, design, and technology to partner with our clients, shifting their biggest healthcare obstacles into opportunities for growth.
VIVO is seeking a versatile, high-impact, Director of Strategy to build, manage and nurture our growing strategy team.  You’ll play a critical part in delivering business insights by deeply understanding target audience behavior and mindset through various forms of market research. You’ll play the role of consultant and lead the development of data-driven commercial recommendations. And, you’ll inspire internal and external teams by delivering bold, engaging, customer-centric strategies for our clients. 
Equal parts visionary and problem solver, you’ll be comfortable with non-linear processes and ambiguity, partnering across internal teams (account, creative, analytics, digital) to help our clients connect with their customers in a meaningful and measurable way through branding, messaging, value propositions, creative concepts, campaigns, engagement strategies, and robust content marketing programs. You’ll forge strong relationships with clients to sell and deliver projects aligned to their commercial needs, communicate your strategies simply and persuasively, and collaborate across teams and silos to execute within timelines and budget. 


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients to identify business problems and opportunities, unmet customer needs, channels, and experiences needed to achieve our client’s growth goals
  • Distill complex information into simple, succinct, inspiring strategies and help clients buy-in to ideas through compelling narrative and design
  • Analyze customer research and category data to crystallize customer insights that inspire meaningful creative work 
  • Build customer journeys that reflect true pain points and barriers to adoption and create engagement plans that overcome them using best practices for experience and digital marketing
  • Develop bold brand strategies that clearly resonate with our target audiences, connecting on both an emotional and rational level and inspiring behavioral change 
  • Focus and guide creative execution of key strategic deliverables while ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of client marketing objectives and customer insights
  • Oversee and direct all delivery of strategy and research services 
  • Manage and lead the internal strategy team as well as outside partners to ensure proper resourcing for all projects and accounts
  • Work directly with other senior leaders to run meetings, workshops, and present big ideas 
  • Incorporate strategic, research-based insights and recommendations into client projects, pitches, and new business development proposals
  • Identify internal needs and facilitate activities and training to enhance strategic mindsets across the agency



Requirements:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in brand, marketing, communications, or research and development in the healthcare field. Experience in medical device, diagnostic, or health tech products a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master's degree highly desirable 
  • Proven experience shaping customer commercial strategies to help grow customers, channels, and ROI with an expert voice that can engage within the executive suite
  • Expertise in developing brand architecture, brand strategy, multi-audience messaging, positioning, and compelling value propositions   
  • Expertise in leading research efforts to unlock new levels of insight into our client’s challenges, including best practices for why, how and when to deploy qualitative, quantitative, and ethnographic research methodologies 
  • Experience in developing channel strategies, digitally engaging HCPs, and tracking and optimizing digital campaigns
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with senior leaders and team members across the agency
  • Curious-minded and stays ahead of emerging trends in business, technology and digital  



This role is completely remote but will require travel to VIVO client locations as is safe during the COVID pandemic.
