A leading major-indie company in the production music library space.  Our music has been used on over 30,000 television shows, ads, and films.  We also operate an indie artist record label with 15-20 artist releases a year and produce over 100 production music albums annually.

 

Job Opportunity

Strike Audio is looking for a hard-working, passionate, fun, eager, ambitious person to join our team. This candidate will work closely with the Head of Music Supervision as well as all other departments within the company. Candidates should be highly organized and have great attention to detail, being skilled communicators who can remain calm under pressure.  This is a great opportunity for the right person to learn more about the music business and grow within an organization. Having an interest in sales is a big plus and will possibly lead to commissions. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and assist on music supervision creative for TV, Advertising, and Film
  • Work and interact with our custom composers
  • Title new songs and categorize them into sub-genres
  • Assist with developing and pursuing new business leads and opportunities
  • Organize and help maintain client database within our CRM (Customer Management system)
  • Participate in bi-weekly company meetings and sales meetings
  • Assist in finding and developing new artists to record music for our company
  • Organize and maintain a database of music cue sheets
  • Perform other related activities as assigned

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Basic understanding of music publishing and music production library business 
  • Keen understanding and ability to recognize a wide variety of different music genres 
  • Have knowledge of established and emerging digital entertainment platforms including Netflix, Tik Tok, YouTube, Spotify, Soundcloud, as well as content on traditional distribution networks on cable (MTV, Discovery, A+E networks, Bravo, etc.) 
  • Creative thinker with a strong interest in music supervision and organizing musical genres 
  • Use keywords and ID tags to organize music genres and subgenres. 
  • Candidate must be seeking a future in the music business (not as a full-time musician) 
  • Tech savvy as well as a fast and pro-active learner with ability to pick up new software quickly – proficient user of Microsoft and Google programs, such as Excel, Sheets and Gmail 
  • Communication skills: the duties require a very high level of communication internally and externally. Strong writing and communicating abilities skills a must. 
  • Sense of urgency to all matters 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or pursuit of, in related field, preferred 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds 
  • Ability to sit, stand and bend would be required

 

Skills and Experience

  • At least 1 year experience as a music coordinator working for a music supervisor or music department OR in an equivalent or adjacent creative space at a record label, third party sync agency, music house or publishing company. Internships count.
  • Must be an obsessive music fan, with an ear for tone
  • Knowledge of music genres and sub-genres
  • Dedicated to the craft of music supervision
  • Hard working, self-starter but also a collaborator who works well in a team environment
  • Friends and contacts in the music licensing community at large is a plus
  • Thrives in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Works well under deadlines and creative pressure
  • Experience with music tagging and metadata a big plus
