Quality Assurance Manager (QA)

MMI is looking to hire an experienced Quality Assurance Manager who has at least 3-5 years of experience in a fabrication shop setting, QC processes, and QA programing. The QA Manager will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant course of study, or a series of specific courses taken to qualify him or her to regulate quality of fabrication and system. 

The QA Manager should be aware of lean manufacturing techniques and skill techniques to help MMI Industrial & Steel fitters and welders accomplish production with high quality and minimal time investment. He should be able to create analyses to determine our quality strengths and weaknesses. This will help identify necessary training or replacement needed. The QA Manager will have a strong understanding of AISC standards to help MMI Industrial & Steel achieve and maintain the AISC fabrication certification.

Responsibilities for QA Manager:

  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret structural steel drawings.
  • Strong analytical, clerical and communication skills.
  • Be able to identify and clearly communicate to fitters, welders, painters, and loaders.
  • Assist fitters and welders on shop floor with problem solving.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality control processes, supervising, and guiding staff, measuring results, and giving feedback to the operations and shop teams.
  • Ensures materials, product and processes meets required specifications, Quality Management System, and customer requirements.
  • Assist with auditing, writing, revising, and verifying quality standards, procedures, records and developing forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
  • Responsibility of the Implementation and modifications of the Quality Management System
  • Perform visual, dimensional and paint Inspections.
  • Perform dimensional inspections to approved shop drawings, codes and specifications.
  • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes.
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Keep up with the production of those fitting and welding to meet deadlines.
  • QA Manager will understand company and quality standard.
  • Will oversee QC inspectors.

Qualifications

  • CWI preferred 
  • Experience with Microsoft office Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • CAD and Tekla experience preferred
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Pay range: $82,500 - $99,000 DOE
