QC - Structural steel Quality Control Checker needed

MMI is looking to hire an experienced Quality Control Checker who has at least 3 years of experience. Quality Control Checkers have strong knowledge of shop drawings. As Quality Control Checker, one must keep up with the production of those fitting and welding to ensure that we can reach our deadlines.  However, QC has ultimate authority to stop fabrication on a project if quality standards are not met.  Establishing a good working relationship with the fabricators in the shop is important so that teamwork can exist.

MMI is an industrial contractor and steel fabricating company based in Mesa, Arizona.  MMI has been in business since 1974 and continues to grow each year.  We are very proud of the more than 120 loyal members of our team and are looking for individuals to contribute at a very high level.

Pay range: $20.00 - $28.00

Responsibilities for Quality Control Checker:

• Must be able to read, understand and interpret structural steel drawings
• Strong clerical and communication skills
• To be able to identify and clearly communicate non-conformance to fitters, welders, painters, and loaders
• Keep up with the production of those fitting and welding to meet deadlines
• QC will understand company and quality standards

Quality Control Checker must be physically able to:

• Work on his/her feet for long periods of time
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
