Production Services Director (Steel/Metal Fabrication-Industrial)

MMI is looking to hire a Production Services Director that has a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, specific structural steel experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.  Someone who has at least 6+ years of experience in industrial services/steel fabrication management is required.  

The Production Services Director will oversee the Production Services Department of the company, ensuring effective and efficient use of steel fabrication production resources. The position will lead, manage, and be accountable for all MMI Industrial and Steel fabrication locations.

The Production Services Director will oversee and participate in the recruitment, hiring and training of Production Services employees.  Oversees schedules and assignments for the department.  Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.   This person will handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Pay Range:    $105K - $112K depending on experience

Duties of a Production Services Director:

• Oversees the production services area including fabrication, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.

• Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
• Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.

• Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
• Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
• Assists vice president of fabrication operations with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
• Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
• Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
• Works with vice president of fabrication operations and the CFO to develop operating budget.
• Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
• Develops and implements plans for all equipment purchases, maintenance, and layout.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Production Services Director must have these qualifications:

• Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the Production Services division.
• Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
• Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
